This is my 33rd year in education. My teaching career began in Oakland,
California, where I taught for twelve years at the elementary level and seven
years in a middle school. In 1991 I moved to the South Bay where I taught
sixth grade history and language arts in the Ravenswood school district.
I am currently in my 14th year at Cupertino Middle School. My areas of
instruction include 8th grade Core and Literature for Pleasure.
HISTORY- The eighth grade course of study begins with a review of the
major ideas, issues, and events preceding the founding of our nation.
Students will concentrate on the critical events of the period--from the
framing of the Constitution to the Rise of Industrial America.
LANGUAGE ARTS- The focus is on reading informational and literary
texts critically, writing effective compositions, and making oral
presentations.
