Dear Families,

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving break!
We have just a few weeks to get a lot done before the Winter break, hopefully everyone is
feeling great and ready for school!

A reminder that I sent home a new 4 digit password for your child to access Raz-Kids.

The ideal use of the site is to listen to the book first and read along fluently.  Your child may need to
listen to the book several times before they are able to replicate the fluent model they hear.
Then your child can read the text themselves without the audio support.
Once they have done that, they need to take the quiz at the end of the book.  
The quizzes for all books at a given level must be passed to move to the next level.

This is not a race, but an opportunity for them to independently practice 
fluent reading and comprehension.  Please encourage your child to read for meaning 
and not to rush through the levels.

I can monitor your child's progress and how many times they need to take a quiz before they
pass.  If your child needs to take the quiz too many times, then they need to pay better attention 
when they are reading or I can move them down to an easier level.
