Book Project

Non-Fiction/Informational Collage

For this book project, you are going to read an informational book on a topic you would like to learn more about and create a collage to convey some of what you learned.

Your topic and book title will need to be approved by your teacher by

       Friday, November 21

The final project is due

Wednesday, December 17

To complete your collage poster, you should do the following:

(Samples in class)

1.  Cut out a poster board shape related to your topic.

2.  Select three (3) focus areas for your topic and write a paragraph, for each, containing at least five (5) pieces of information. Your information should be interesting and written using complex sentences (e.g. NOT "Snakes eat rodents"). Remember that each paragraph needs a topic sentence and a conclusion.

**We will be using your paragraphs to write a five-paragraph essay in class. You should bring an extra copy so you can refer to it.

3.  Glue the three (3) focus area paragraphs onto your poster.

4.  Create a title that includes your topic. Make it BIG!

5.  Put your name, the title of your book and the author's name on the front of your poster.

6.  Fill in the extra space with cut out or drawn pictures that have to do with your topic. Remember that this is a collage, so your empty poster space should be covered with pictures.
