Classroom Announcements:

Ms. Alexander: As you know, Mrs. Larios has gone on maternity leave and I am 
filling in for her for the remainder of the school year. I am very happy to 
be with this class for such an exciting time of year. If you have any 
questions or concerns, you can continue to email Mrs. Larios at 
mwalker@iusd.org, or call her school extension, (949) 936-5722.

Weekly Work Letters/Homework:  The students are becoming more and more
independent, however, they still need reminders and check-ins from you. Please
be sure to check your child’s homework planner to ensure that s/he is
completing assignments and studying for upcoming tests. Please also use the
Weekly Work Letter as a discussion piece to his/her responsibility and
behaviors for that week. It is important that we work together to help in your
child’s success.

Eastshore Announcements:

BOOK FAIR IS COMING!!  During the week of May 21st, Eastshore’s Book Fair 
will be open!  Students will have an opportunity to browse for books and 
other reading materials during their regularly scheduled library time.  The 
Book Fair will also be open during Open House on Thursday, May 24th from 6:00 
p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

OPEN HOUSE:  Please join us for this fun filled night where your child will 
act as tour guide and share his or her accomplishments with you!  Students 
and staff have been working hard to prepare a fantastic showcase of student 
work and progress for you and your family to enjoy.  Open house is on 
Thursday, May 24th from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.  Reminder- students are on a 
minimum day bell schedule.

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS!!!  As we traditionally do this time of year, the 
Eastshore teaching staff is planning to honor all of the volunteers who work 
so hard, providing support to our students and staff all year long.  
Invitations will be sent out this week so please save the date and join us on 
Wednesday, May 30th from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the multi-purpose room for 
some treats and recognition!

DRESS CODE REMINDERS:  As the weather begins to warm up, please remember our 
dress code at Eastshore.  Specific information can be found in our RIR 
Guidelines but here are some highlights:
•	Sleeveless tops must have a minimum of a 2 inch strap.  Spaghetti 
        straps are not allowed (that goes for halter tops as well).
•	Shorts need to be an appropriate length.
•	Close toed shoes are required at all times.
•	Hats may be worn outside but must be removed when inside the building.

Please be advised that students are not allowed to wear sunglasses unless 
they have been prescribed by a doctor.  Your support in helping your child 
adhere to these guidelines is greatly appreciated.  We do keep a supply of 
clothing in the health office in the event students are inappropriately 
dressed.
