Week of December 7th through 11th

This week we'll continue to write "A Review of  A Novel". Rough drafts due on 12/14, and final drafts 
due on 12/16. Final drafts must be typed, double spaced, standard 12 pt. font, black ink. Vocabulary 
test #6 will be on Friday, Dec. 12

Monday Dec. 7 -  Study vocab for test Friday and finish novel if not done already

Tuesday Dec. 8 - Study vocab for test Friday and finish novel

Wednesday Dec. 9   - Novel must be done by tomorrow, Dec. 10

Thursday Dec. 10 -  Rough draft of essay due on Mon. Dec. 14. Vocab. #6 test tomorrow!
 
Friday Dec. 11 - Rough draft of essay due Monday Dec. 14 and final draft due Dec. 16

Week of November 30 - December 4

Monday Nov. 30 - Read your novel and work on vocab. #6 homework, due Friday Dec. 4

Tuesday Dec. 1 - Read your novel and study vocab #6

Wednesday Dec. 2 - Read your novel and study vocab #6

Thursday Dec. 3 - Read your novel - vocab. #6 due tomorrow

Friday Dec. 4 - Keep reading! Finish your novel by December 10.  Vocab. #6 test on Dec. 11th.

After we are finished reading the novels, we will write an essay. For directions for writing "A Review 
of a Novel" see the Holt textbook pages 612-626. Papers are due on December 16th. Papers must be 
typed, double-spaced, 12 point font, standard font style, in black ink, approx. 5 paragraphs.

Week of November 23-27
During Thanksgiving break, read your novel. Finish your novel by December 10.

Monday Nov. 16 - Start reading novel - read for 20 minutes

Tuesday Nov. 17 - Continue reading novel - read for 20 minutes

Wednesday Nov. 18 - Study vocab. for test tomorrow. Final exam today!

Thursday Nov. 19 - Test on Vocab. #5 today

Friday Nov. 20 -  Over the break, all students need  to be reading your novel! Novels need to be 
finished by Dec. 10th in preparation for an essay in December.

Week of November 9 - November 13

This week we'll read the story Harriet Tubman and work on vocab. #5. Vocab #5 homework is due on 
11/11. Vocab. #5 test is on 11/19. We will also start to prep for the first trimester final exam next 
week.

Monday Nov. 9 - Vocab #5 homework due Thursday

Tuesday Nov. 10 - Vocab. #5 homework due Thursday

Wednesday Nov. 11 - NO School - Veteran's Day

Thursday Nov. 12 - Harriet Tubman test tomorrow

Friday Nov. 13 - Choose a novel (a work of fiction) to read. Requirements:
1. At least 150 pages (or close to it)
2. Never read it before
3. Parent approved
4. At grade level or higher
5. Make sure you can finish it by Dec. 10
After you read your novel, we will be writing an essay about it (during the month of December). 
Bring your novel with you to class every day. You can read your novel during your WEI silent reading 
time.
