About The Teacher
Tagert's fifteenth year here at Eich, a National Blue Ribbon School as well as a California Distinguished School. I love to teach. Teaching is more of a hobby for me than work.... something only a few individuals can say about their jobs. I grew up in Vacaville where my mother still resides (my father past away recently). We're very close and visit often. After graduating from Vaca High in '85 (you do the math), I started my college tour at CSU Chico. I then moved to CSU SanDiego and then a brief stay overseas at University of London. I finally wrapped up my degree graduating from Sac State in '94. If it wasn't for my mother, I would not be here. She egged me on to get my degree and kept pushing me even if I thought I wanted to do something differnet. My suggestion is to listen to your mother, A college degree means security! I have been with my wife for the past 19 years,, married 16 of them. She's a graduate from Chico who now is a successful mortgage broker. We have a lot in common with the exception of Football.... her a 49er fan and me, a Dallas Fan. It's a bit tough during the season. We have three very active boys. Our oldest, Chase, is 12. Chase loves all sports! Kody, whose 9, loves football and into his own style. Riley, my youngest, is 5 and just entered Kindergarten. Loves baseball and soccer. My interest are just about all outdoor activities ranging from camping, traveling and lounging by the pool with the family. We've done almost everything from rafting class 5 white water rapids (unrunable by the way) to bungee jumping off bridges in middle of a snow storm. Don't get me wrong, I also enjoy indoor activities such as sleeping and watching Football too!
Mission Label:
Mission
US History has its challenges with the memorization of the Constitution to the gore of the Civil War. However the struggle of these sections, I promise you it will be like no other history class you have ever had! GATE 7th grade will run with high expectations. Not only will the students learn the standards, themes and units covered in a regular 7th grade ED class, but they will be expected to become engaged with learning activities that require more depth and complexity. I don't believe in just straight lectures or constant videos. I teach with a variety of techniques including group work, textbooks, oral presentations, collages and laserdisc/ videos. Along with written tests there will be a variety of projects that will challenge your knowledge. We are following the standardized base report card. Academic grades is based on the grading policy as listed in the class sylabus. Here is the concept as of right now: A child has either " Meet standards" which is 100% to 70%. The degree of meeting that standard is as follows.... "A" goes from 100 % to 90%, a "B" goes from 89% to 80% and a "C" goes from 79% to a 70 %. All met standards. It's the following you need to be concerned with. The next area, "Below standards" is more like the "D" range..... a "69% to a 60 %. And then there is the "Far below standard". Somewhere we all hope our child does not go. "59% to 0%. Basically a 'F".
Or, would you like to view and optionally restore one of these previous versions?
