Students receive the next Vocabulary Unit

* Lessons and Units are assigned on a rotating basis, that is, if students received Spelling/Roots this week, they will receive Vocabulary the following week. These assignments are to be done in the spiral notebook and not torn from the notebook. All spelling/roots lists and vocabulary words are posted on the board in the classroom.

Once tests are scored and entered into the grade book, they are glued into the spiral notebook as well. This way, students and parents can see the pattern of mistakes and see progress toward improvement.

 

Every Friday:

Students are quized on the language arts convention (grammar, analogies, sentence structure, etc.) that has been covered each day of the week. This work is collected and they receive 5 points for each day the work was completed. This gives students an added (easy) opportunity to keep their grade intact.

 

** A calendar is posted in the classroom that records the tasks completed for every class. The homework assignments (spelling/roots word lists or vocabulary words) are also posted directly above the class calendar. Students know at all times what has been covered and what is expected.
