We know we're a few days late on this, but we've FINALLY posted the 5 Finalists for our Best Website contest on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/TeacherWebInc. You have from now until midnight next Wednesday, May 22nd, to vote on your favorite. Studying for a Test in 5th Grade When to Study? * Start EARLY! &nbsp;Days in advance, not only the night before * Daily (review), or when test is assigned- don&#8217;t PROCRASTINATE! * Make a study schedule- What to do and When to do it * Earlier in the afternoon when you are alert Where to Study? * Table/Desk- a quiet place with all materials needed * Away from distractions- siblings, television, phone, games * At a friend&#8217;s house (supervised study group), library, coffee shop * Car- &#8220;additional&#8221; studying, but not the only place What to Study? * Packets/graphic org., spiral notebook (math notes)- highlight what you don&#8217;t know o&nbsp;&nbsp; Then rewrite highlighted notes, make flashcards, foldables * Book o&nbsp;&nbsp; Advantages- reread &amp; pick up more details, use on reading log, highlighted vocabulary, practice tests, glossary/index o&nbsp;&nbsp; Disadvantages- TOO much information, daydreaming, may not understand * Computer- online textbook, quizzes, further investigation How to Study? * Set realistic goals YOU can achieve * Focus on one subject/task at a time * Prioritize- what is most important or due first? * Blocks of study time- smaller chunks rather than long periods * Take a practice test- then study what you miss * Tricks on how to remember &#8211; word association (solute/cute), pictures in head * Create a poster with ideas you don&#8217;t quite understand * If available- review with parents to help with hints (they are smart too!) * Orally recite everything you know on each topic w/o notes- how much do you know?
