Welcome! The year is off to a fantastic start! I am
very excited to see such an eager, enthusiastic group of children. I am
honored to be their teacher. Together we will make this a very memorable
year! I look forward to establishing great school/home relationships. Thank

We will continue Chapter 8 in math, this chapter is about relating addition
and subtraction math facts up to 20, seeing the relationship. The children
will need to have command of both addition and subtraction math facts. The
children will need to be able to find the difference, compute a doubles math
fact, create a math fact family, and find the sum. Please practice
addition/subtraction math facts with your child. By the end of the school
year, the children need to know their addition and subtraction mathematics
facts from 1-20.
Please be an active boxtop looker and saver. Please cut out boxtops and
return to our classroom as soon as possible. The entire school is in contest
for landmark prizes when we turn in a specific number of boxtops. Go Carsey
parents! Save those boxtops!!!! Go team go!!!
We will continue our physical science unit Chapter 6. This chapter focuses
on solids, liquids, and gases. The children will learn to describe matter,
identify solids, liquids, and gases, and be able to indicate how they are
different from each other. The students will be able to identify the
different properties of a solid, liquid, and a gas.
In our Open Court reading program we will continue to learn a new letter
sound-spelling card each day. A new reading decodable book will be
introduced each day to reinforce our new letter sound-spelling card. Please
keep these books in a safe place for your child to read and re-read. We
started comprehension questions that go with each reading decodable book, the
children are responsible for completing these questions by themselves.
