Dear Parents:

The Culminating Project begins on Monday, March 19, 2012.  You student will 
bring how an extensive instruction letter that out lines the porject.  
Additional and detailed information can be found on the Culminating Project 
webpage on this site.

This is not a last minute project. I recommend that your student spends 20-30 
minutes writing, researching,and practicing each day. As I will tell your 
students repeatedly, I grade this project very thoroughly and it is very 
difficult to come away from it with an "A". It is essential that they do all 
of the extra work on the timeline in order to soften the potential blow of a 
poor grade on the project.

This year I will be adding afterschool writing workshops to help them get 
extended discussion time with me regarding their project.  The workshops will 
be voluntary, but they come with a 300 point extra credit award. Students can 
only attend one workshop for credit, but they are always welcome to attend if 
they need the help.  Students will also be doing some in-class workshops with 
other students completing the same type of project.

Please feel free to use the email link any time you have a question. I check 
email frequently including once or twice in the evening, so I usually respond 
promptly.
