Welcome to Emmaus Lutheran Church
For over 90 years, Emmaus Lutheran Church has been a beacon in the San
Gabriel Community, opening its arms to people in need of finding Jesus Christ
as their personal savior.
WE ARE NOW IN THE SEASON OF PENTECOST:
The Church celebrates the Festival of Pentecost as the fulfillment and
conclusion of the Easter season. The name Pentecost, meaning "the fiftieth
day". originally referred to the Jewish Festival of Weeks, the time of
thanksgiving for first-fruits and the in gathering of the harvest. The
Christian Church retained the name to mark the completion of the fifty day
period after Easter, and the first in gathering of believers into the
Church. On Pentecost, Christians commemorate the special outpouring of the
Luther's Small Catechism has this to say about the personal confession of
faith for Pentecost:
"I believe that I cannot by my own reason or strength believe in Jesus
Christ, my Lord, or come to Him, but the Holy Spirit has called me by the
Gospel, enlightened me with His gifts, sanctified and kept me in the true
In the same way He calls, gathers, enlightens, and sanctifies the whole
Christian Church on earth, and keeps it with Jesus Christ in the one true
In this Christian Church He daily and richly forgives all my sins and the
sins of all believers.
On the Last Day He will raise me and all the dead, and give eternal life to
me and all believers in Christ.
This is most certainly true."

9:00 a.m. Traditional Service
10:10-10:55 a.m. Bible Study. Pastor Frese's is teaching "Lutheranism 101".
This class will be ongoing through summer. (See the side link bar for more

11:00 a.m. Contemporary Service
CHINESE/MANDARIN WORSHIP AND BIBLE STUDY:
9:45-10:30 a.m. Pastor Jow's Mandarin Bible Class (in grade 7 classroom)
11:00 a.m. Mandarin Service
CHILDREN'S SUNDAY SCHOOL:
10:10-10:55 a.m. Join us for Sunday School in the 3rd grade classroom.
Children in grade P-4 (4 years old) through grade 6 are welcome to attend.
There will be songs/music, Bible story, craft, snacks and more.
