About The Teacher Label:
About The Teacher
My name is Celeste Carney. I was born in Michigan, but in grade school we moved to Escondido and that is where I have grown up. I graduated from Orange Glen High School in 1973(I was Celeste Silsby then), Palomar College in 1976, and University of San Diego in 1979. I then got a Masters Degree from USIU in Educational Psychology with a Reading Specialist Credential soon after. I taught Kindergarten here at ECS for 5 years before having my three daughters; Britney 24, Marissa 21 (she has worked at Summer in the Son for two summers) and Jillian 19. I was very blessed to stay home to raise them and am blessed and excited to be back in the very same classroom I taught in before. I am a sixth generation teacher...it is in my bones. My middle daughter, Marissa is a Senior at Life Pacific College, and is pursuing her Teaching Credential. It is great to be back!
Mission Label:
Mission
God has created each child with purpose in mind. My goal is to assist in preparing them academically and spiritually so they can fulfill that purpose. To accomplish that goal, as an educator, I will do my best to create a learning enviornment that is fun and comfortable. It should be a place where they learn self control; as well as how to respect others. But most importantly, my goal is to paint a picture of their Creator that is a true resemblance of His likenss, and to instill in them their need for a Savior.
