I strive to keep our travels on Route 66 running smoothly and safely. Our classroom is a place that has a routine that offers predictabilty and is able to accomodate the needs of all. Travelers who follow rules and display positive behavior and end up with a perfect License will be invited to use their "License to Lunch" to have a monthly lunch with me where I provide snacks, prizes, and games. Travelers who receive less than 5 hole punches in their "License to Lunch" License will receive a School Wide Citizenship award (Roar Award) for the month. Our Management Plan affords every student the opportunity to manage their own behavior and academic goals. To encourage Travelers to follow the rules, I will reinforce desired and appropraite behavior with praise, citizenhip awards, "Driver of the Week" honors, moving their magnet to purple, and special "High Five" trips to the office. There are times where a progressive discipline system is needed. A student may need gentle reminders from time to time in order to work on positive behavior and expected responsibility. Students will get a hole punch in their "License to Lunch" each time a rule or expectation has been broken. Students may get hole punches for not having homework, being off task, talking at inappropriate times, having their magnet moved to green or lower, or forgetting to get their Binder Reminder signed. Once a student has received 5 hole punches for the month they are ineligible for the ROAR montly award. I hope to have several Travelers make it to the "License to Lunch" each month. Classroom management is positively correlated to high student academic achievement. I expect and anticipate a smooth driving expereince each day.
