Sight words are words that need to be
recognized instantly or "on sight" for smooth reading. These following words
are sight words that students must know in order to be more fluent readers.
Many of these words can be found in anything that we read--school books,
magazines and even newspapers. If your student knows these words, they will
know many of the words in whatever they are trying to read. Please spend a few
minutes each night going over these words with your child. Working on mastery
of these words will give your child the opportunity to successfully read with
confidence and for meaning. Let's encourage our children to be lifelong
readers!
