Welcome to the Fieldbrook Website

Fieldbrook School has been named a California Distinguished School for 2014! The staff, students and families work hard to make this the best little school district ANYWHERE! Come visit our school and see for yourself why Fieldbrook is so very deserving of this award. We were eligible to apply based upon the students' outstanding test scores in the spring of 2013. In the application we stressed two positive 'strands': The Common Thread, which is Fieldbrook's overall family atmosphere and the pervasive feeling that no one gets left behind, and the great Student Study Team and intervention program.

Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year at Fieldbrook Elementary! We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of students on Monday, August 25th! Out staffing pattern is essentially the same, with one very notable change. Although we have 4th/5th and 5th/6th combination classes, the 4th-6th grade students will be with just one core teacher until after morning recess for math and Language Arts. Mrs. Kadle will be teaching the 4th grade core class, Ms Cappiello the 5th grade core class, and Mrs. Miller the 6th grade core class. After the morning recess the 5th grade students will go to either Mrs. Kadle or Ms Cappiello, and Mrs. Miller will be teaching the 7th/8th grade math class. Mrs. Sundberg has the Kindergarten/Transitional Kindergarten class, Mrs. Crittenden the first grade, Mrs. Valley has second grade, and Mrs. Poston will be teaching 3rd grade. We are anticipating that approximately 155 students will be starting the year with us, and we are thrilled! As many of you will remember, we always have Monday morning assemblies with all the students. Usually the assemblies will be at 8:40 a.m., but on the first day of school the assembly will be held at 9:00 a.m., allowing the teachers to spend more time with their new classes. Parents are always welcome to attend the Monday morning assemblies.
We have so much to offer here at Fieldbrook, beginning with an outstanding staff of teachers and dedicated classified personnel. Here at Fieldbrook each and every one of us are here because we value and cherish children! Students truly come first with us, and our decisions are based upon what is best for the kids. That being said, our decisions do not always please everyone, but we strive always to do what is best for the kiddos! We have a fine academic program in place, and every teacher and instructional assistant work hard to meet the needs of every student. We work hard to prevent any student from "falling through the cracks" by offering an intervention program, an outstanding Resource program, a homework club run by a credentialed teacher, a counseling program, and extra help within the regular classrooms.
We partner with HSU to offer an after-school Spanish program to 3rd - 8th graders. Students can participate in music, basketball, chess club, and other exciting extra-curricular programs that are currently being designed as part of the after-school program.
Several new faces will be on campus this year. Tesa Robinson is the new 1st/2nd grade instructional assistant, Sarah Jacks is our new assistant in the office, and Martin Tunzi is our new head of maintenance and facilities!
Welcome, once again, to the new year, and please do not hesitate to come into the office with any questions or concerns.
