Updated HOMEWORK POLICY (effective 2nd Quarter 2011)
Homework Grades:
5 points – Assignment completed on time
4 points – Assignment completed, but turned in late (by the first class of
the following week).
1 point – Assignment completed, but turned in too late to get 4 or 5 points
Additional points may be distributed for extra credit, as the case is presented.
Additional points may be given from time to time for correctness of work.
Points may be deducted for not following accepted Homework format (correct header, correct paper, pencil, not showing work or incomplete work).
Updated GRADING POLICY (effective 2nd Quarter 2011)
Grading Categories have been assigned more definitive percentage structures:
HOMEWORK – 25% of the grade
Homework includes all independent practice work assigned to be done
outside class time, as well as assigned preparation for upcoming lessons.
CLASSWORK and special PROJECTS – 25% of the grade
Classwork includes any work that is done in class, like Notes taken in the Spiral
Notebook, Starters, mini-Checks on work or understanding, class
participation, individual, partner and group work, and displayed attention to
learning and teacher instructions.
Projects include work time outside of the class period.
TESTS and QUIZZES – 50% of the grade
Includes Tests and Quizzes, as well as Test Corrections, which are credited as
Extra Credit Points and bring up the Test or Quiz Grade.
