saveagallon.org competition

Hey Husky bikers & walkers!

If you ride your bike or walk, you can help Team Harper by
signing in at saveagallon.org. This applies to any trip where you
are saving gas by not going by automobile. Your commute to
and from school as well as sports practice and trips around town
will add up quickly.

Here are the steps….

1. On the internet, go to saveagallon.org
2. On the left side bar, select “create new account”
3. You will need to make up a username, and password as well as
put in an email account. If you don’t have an email, perhaps
you could ask your parents for theirs.
NOTE: Write your username and password down so you don’t
forget them. In case you are worried about privacy, your email
address will not be visible or accessible from this website.

4. You only need to complete the red starred items and scroll to
   the page bottom.
5. Log in and it will ask you to join a team: type in "Team
   Harper" and save.
6. Now you are ready to start adding miles.
   * If you don’t know how far you live from school, you can map
your path using Google Earth. Most Harper students are within
   1-3 miles of campus.
   * You can add miles you have already ridden. Since the
district-wide competition began in mid-October, you only
     need to backdate to then.
   * From this point on, log your miles regularly. This should be
     at least once a week.
   * Be honest and as accurate as you can about your miles.

Prizes! Prizes! Prizes! Each month there will be two Harper
students randomly picked to win gift cards at local stores.
Bigger prizes drawn randomly from all schools throughout the
competition. To be eligible you must log your miles at least 3
different times within the month. Once a week would cover it!

Ride on...use a helmet...be safe...have fun....lock your
bike...log your miles...stay healthy...help cut down on
pollution...cut excess CO2...be cool...help your school!
