GATE Sci. 8 (Period 1,2)

Welcome to 2nd quarter!
ANNOUNCEMENTS: I start grades over each quarter. We keep graded work in a 
classroom file cabinet. An A or B at the first semester is required for 
placement in the advanced class of 9th grade biology. During this quarter, I 
will individualize procedures for struggling students. For instance, I may 
not require a planner check for successful students (as long as they stay 
successful), but require it from struggling students. 

Week of Monday 11/2/09 through Friday 11/6/09:

Monday 11/2:
Planner Check, Stamp page 27, W-Up: 1. Can a clay boat displace less water 
than when it is a clay ball, and still float? 2. Why does a helium balloon 
move forward when the car it is in accelerates forward?, Go over packet 
pages, file 1st quarter graded papers in classroom file cabinet.
Homework: Due Tue 11/3:
1) Ch 4 packet and vocab
2) Study for Ch 4 Test tomorrow

Tuesday 11/3:

all our wonderful men and women in the armed forces! Including Coast Guard

demonstrate lab 5B, 3rd period = make "Thankful Hand", Work time to complete

Thanksgiving Break. The Ch 6 packet is also due Friday 12/4. Science Notebook 
will be due Thursday 12/3. Reminder: working ahead is expected if homework is 
not taking the entire 20 minutes each night.

Friday 11/21:
