I'm looking forward to a rewarding year with your child.
This is my 20th year of teaching in Etiwanda School District.
I've taught grades K, 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in
Behavioral Science from Cal Poly Pomona, and a Master's Degree in Curriculum
and Instruction from Chapman University. My classroom environment is built
upon mutual respect, encouragement, and trust. I value the opportunity to
praise your child's efforts, acknowledge their achievements and cheer them
on to greater accomplishments. I do like structure in my classroom but also
try and leave time for a little spontaneity and fun. There is no telling
what you might find us doing during the course of a school day! Creativity
and curiosity are great catalysts for learning in my classroom.
Seeing that I'll have the privilege of spending so much time with your child
this year, I'd like to share a little about myself.
***Talbott's Trivia***
** I have a twin sister. My twin is also a teacher.
** I have an older brother who lives in Arizona.
** I love being an aunt! I have a niece and a nephew. I spend my
weekends at all their sporting events...soccer, baseball, and water polo.
I'm their number one fan!
** My favorite quote: "We shape our lives not by what we carry with us...
But by what we leave behind."
** Interesting fact: I've been White Water river rafting!
** I had two friendly Chocolate Labradors named Sienna and Hannah.
Sadly they both died because of illnesses.
After my dogs died I read the book Marley and Me...A pet lover's must read!
**I have a new dog "best friend" now though, a Yellow Labrador I adopted in April 2009.
Harley is 8 years old, and the best company I could ask for. He moved into my new
house I also bought in April. He loves his new, big backyard and is always hunting for
lizards. His biggest job this summer though has been protected his yard from coyotes.
And yes, he chases them out and over the walls!
