About The Teacher
I'm so happy to be here at Goleta Valley Junior High School. Before coming to this district 6 years ago, I taught math and science at Dana Middle School in the Wiseburn School District down in the Los Angeles area for 10 years. Previous to that I taught 4th grade for 3 years and High School Business Math for 1 year. Junior High and Middle School are definitely my favorite grades to teach. I remember knowing in 6th grade that I was going to be a math teacher when I grew up. Who says you can't really decide what you want to do at that age? Just remember to put your mind to it and anything is possible. I went to college at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California, where I studied math, education, and business. This is also where I met my closest friends, including my husband, and had the best years of my life. My hope is that all of my student's will get a chance to experience what college is like for themselves. Applying yourselves now is key to a successful education and pathway to college. Some of my favorite hobbies and activities include: swimming, playing piano, skydiving, scuba diving, and most importantly, playing with my beautiful twin boys, Ryan and Tyler, who are 5 and starting kindergarten this year.
