Art In Good Shepherd Elementary School By giving children a basic knowledge of art concepts, we provide our students with the necessary knowledge and skill base for greater creative thinking and higher value judgments in all fields, thus enriching their lives. The visual arts program at Good Shepherd Lutheran Elementary School provides a step by step introduction to the visual arts. Each new learning experience builds on prior experience and knowledge. With a strong core of knowledge children are more willing to experiment and risk new art experiences and with that knowledge they are more comfortable in the creation process. Children leaving Good Shepherd Lutheran Elementary School have an age appropriate core foundation of visual arts knowledge and competency and a greater opportunity to use the creativity the God has given to each one of them Art in Good Shepehrd Middle School Some students arriving at Good Shepherd Middle School may have never taken a formal art class, while others, some of whom have been at the Good Shepherd Preschool and Elementary School, have been engaged in art activities for years. Although students may have different degrees of skill, in the Good Shepherd Middle School Art Program each student’s experience and ideas are valued and they will be encouraged to build upon what they already know in a noncritical environment.
