Important Reminders for 1/04 - 1/08
I was very happy to have met all parents on our conference day. Please do
continue to keep in touch throughout the new trimester too. It is wonderful
to work with involved and encouraging parents.
A Big Thank-You to all parents who helped in setting up for International Day
and also for the wonderful international variety of dishes that we shared for
the potluck.
L.A - Our new Selection is ' Jamaica Louise James'. We are practicing the
Reading Strategy 'Evaluate'.

Science - We are on Unit 2 Life Cycles.
Science Fair: G.I.S. will hold its annual science fair on January 19, 2010.
Second graders will not be doing individual projects, but we will do group
projects in class and will present their projects to 2B and 2C on the day of
the Fair during school hours. I need parents' help in class the first two
weeks of January to finish the projects with the students. Please e-mail me
if you can help me in class.
Social Studies - Unit 3 Lesson 1 'What Do Governments do ?' We will learn
about the three branches of Government and how they are related.
Math - We will start Addition with Regrouping. The next fact test will have
100 facts and students have to complete them in 3 minutes. The new set of
facts will be Subtracting 1.
I wish all of you a safe and wonderful time with your families. We will have
no homework over the break and will resume our studies in earnest once we
come back!
