Grapeland’s school community steps up once again to provide support for our students and our A+ staff! Whether time or monetary resources, our families continue to embrace our school mission to make Grapeland every child’s favorite place to be! PTA celebrates reaching 100% of our parents as members for the fifth consecutive year and coordinated successfully two philanthropic causes that raised funds and awareness for worthy causes. It feels great to be part of something very significant outside our gates, teaching us all the importance of empathy for others.

Our Walk-a-Thon was a huge success and will fund our activities center on the playground. Thank you PTA for supporting our students through reading, music, choir, technology, assemblies and before/after school programs. Our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders enjoyed using Chrome Books to complete their assignments and collaborated well to discover new worlds together. Many Grizzlies got involved in Reflections, our oratory competition, spelling bee, B.O.B. and of course our spring performance of Beauty and the Beast. The love for reading continues to be a focus area of our students, evidenced by 375 students who met their individual goals for six Accelerated Reader sessions in a row!

It feels great to continue the traditions that have made Grapeland a special place, and we are excited to look forward to new adventures as a school community. Together, we will forge ahead to meet any new challenge!

Have a great summer! We will see you August 6th!

Greetings Grapeland Families,

I am honored to serve as the new principal of Grapeland Elementary. Grapeland has a reputation of academic excellence, and I am blessed to join a culture focused on student learning, a commitment to high expectations, and great community support. It is my intention to continue to champion these important values and uphold the traditions that have made Grapeland every child's favorite place to be!

I am aware of the anticipation and eagerness that accompanies new leadership; change can bring about anxiety for us all. Rest assured, it is my highest priority to get to know each student and their families, to listen attentively, and then work collaboratively with our staff and school community to provide the highest level of support for all.

Parents, teachers, support staff, and community members, each have an important role in encouraging and inspiring our children to become active, life-long learners equipped for the 21st century. To this end, it is my sincere desire to provide expanded opportunities for our students to acquire the necessary skills to become productive citizens both locally and globally. Our children deserve the very best support in this ever-changing world, and we all have the privilege to be part of making this happen. These are exciting times!

Thank you for supporting our PTA with your time and membership! I encourage you all to join and volunteer. There are many opportunities to get involved, both small and large, and your support is one of the best ways to serve our students directly.
