I first have to say that your kids have been absolutely wonderful with this rainy weather and being inside all week. We have such a hard working and sweet class!
A few updates/reminders:
-This Monday is a Staff Development Day. Please remember there is NO SCHOOL on Monday.
-Our library time has been changed for next week. Instead of Library on Wednesday, it will now be on Tuesday (1/26). Please send in books on Tuesday.
-Finally, the 4's packets are going home on Tuesday. By now, you child is expected to quickly know their 2's and 3's facts. Keep going over these with them for reinforcement.
Thank you! Have a great weekend and try to stay dry!

Tomorrow will be "College Day" for Spirit Day. If possible, have your children dress in their favorite college attire. It's also the last day to collect box tops. Please send them in if you have any. Finally, tomorrow is the last day of the trimester. Report cards will come home on Wednesday 11/18.

As you may have heard, 3rd grade is now starting to teach P.E. in addition to Mr. Tuffly's P.E. instruction. This is to make sure each child has the adequate CA mandated number of P.E. minutes each week. Our P.E. time was cut in half due to budget cuts. Now, I get to teach P.E. to your children. In addition to Tuesdays, we will now have P.E. on Mondays from 11-12. Please make sure your children are dressed appropriately.
If you are interested in volunteering with P.E. we would love to have you. Please email me if interested. Thanks for your support,
Kristen

We are excited for our field trip. This is a reminder to pack a sack lunch for your children tomorrow and to make sure they arrive on time to school. We will be leaving first thing. Drivers please come to our room at 8:30.
If I don't have time to do a Newsflash tomorrow, I wanted to tell you to look for great writing in Friday Folders. Since I turned 25 on Monday, they wrote paragraphs on what they think they will be doing when they are 25. You will probably want to save these!! They are very fun. :)

It has been so nice meeting with you for conferences this week and I look forward to meeting with the rest of you tomorrow. I wanted to update you on what to look out for in Friday Folders this week:
1) School Directories are coming home.
**If you do not get a Directory and would like to order one, they can be purchased for $6. Please contact Ceal Barlett at (925) 858-9239
2) Your children took a Scholastic Reading Level Test today. We printed out a list of their leveled books, so you have a reference.
3) Picture Day Forms. Picture day is October 13th. Students who would like to retake or did not take pictures at registration can fill out these forms for October 13. We will do a class picture as well.
4) "October Update" is bright orange to go over what we will be working on in October. It's also available on my website under Monthly Newsletter.
Also, we are running low on copy paper. If you would like to donate, we would greatly appreciate it! :)
Thanks for your support. You all have such wonderful children and I'm really enjoying working with them!

Hi All,
Just wanted to give you the heads up that Conference Forms will NOT be coming home in Friday Folders today. There were a few last minute changes that I need to update before I send them home. I will put them in your child's Monday homework folders instead so please look for them then. I'm sorry for the change! This day has been very busy and your children have been working VERY hard with wonderful attitudes! Have a GREAT weekend and remember to look for the conference times on Monday.
Thanks!
Kristen

Thank you so much for your Chabot Field Trip Paperwork and payments. Keep them coming! Information is available under the Field Trip Link if needed.
Conferences are coming up and will take place October 5-8th. There will be 20 minute time increments, starting at 12 noon. In Friday Folders this week, look for conference slips with assigned times. If there is a day or time slot that you prefer to meet please email me by Thursday. These conference forms are due back signed in Friday Folders on Monday, September 21. Thank you for your support and I look forward to conferencing with you!
