Happy and healthy Thanksgiving! Please enjoy time with your family. I would like to thank everyone for their support. Over the holiday have your child continue reading and working on math facts to be ready when they return.

GIFT DRIVE Nov 30th - Dec. 4th : During these difficult economic times, I'm asking the children to give of themselves and donate a new toy, book , or article of clothing to less fortunate children. Have your child bring something to place in our donation bag. Gift card are also being accepted. Thank you.
REPORT CARDS : Please sign the envelope and return it to school ASAP. Thank you.

HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS:
- The TeacherWeb Homework Page is updated weekly. Please review the assignments with your children.
SYMPHONY FIELD TRIP : Permission slip and $11.00 due ASAP to Mrs. Gilbert.
OLD SCHOOL HOUSE FIELD TRIP:
We're scheduled on two dates , May 6th with Mrs. Selover's Class & May 11th with Ms. Caldera's Class. Unfortunately, I won't be attending this year since Mrs. Selover has never experienced this field trip. If you're interested in attending with your child on a specific date, please inform Mrs. Gilbert prior to scheduling. The fee is $5.00 per student and all who attend need to dress according to the time period. The dress code applies to the chaperons as well.
IMPORTANT :
- LIBRARY Dec. 1st : Remember your library books.
- MULTIPLICATION : I've sent the multiplication flash cards home. Please have your child cut each card and start practicing. After Thanksgiving Break, I'm staring to introduce the concept of multiplication. I plan to also introduce division since they're fact families. If your child needs additional reinforcement on addition and subtraction facts, please do not stop . Continue , since I'm still testing them twice a week . All children are required to pass the addition and subtraction Math Timed Test.
- HOMEWORK PACKET UPDATE : As of Nov. 30th, I've increased the practice time for math facts to 20 minutes per night.
- FICTIONAL PAPER DOLL BOOK REPORT : Due Dec. 11th
- COMPOSITION BOOKS : All students have been given small Composition Books to help them become independent and understand weekly expectations. In the books, students have been writing what needs to be accomplished through the week. This composition book will help the students become organized and prepared them for 4th Grade. Students must have their books on Mondays. Thank you.
- SPANISH CLASSES: Your children are very fortunate to have classroom instruction in Spanish every other week on Tuesday from 12:50-1:30.
The dates for Spanish are as follows:
12/8, 1/12, 1/26, 2/9, 2/23, 3/9, 3/30, 5/11
- HOMEWORK PACKETS : Please have your children read directions carefully.
- Mrs. Fruchtman's P.E. : Monday from 11:00-11:50. Please make sure that your children wear sneakers.
- MATH QUIZZ SHOW SOFTWARE- I am sending this math program home to download onto your computers. After you have done that, please return it . This will give your children the opportunity to work with the math concepts in a new way. Thank you.
- Please send more than one healthy snack. I allow the children to eat whenever they're hungry.
