CHARACTER TRAIT OF THE MONTH
Each month at Heritage Intermediate students are recognized for a specific character trait. Congratulations to all of the students who received reconition for the September character trait of Compassion. During the month of October we are practicing and recognizing the character trait of INITIATIVE.

OUR PTSA FUNDRAISER IS IN FULL SWING!
This year's PTSA Fundraiser offers a variety of items just in time for the upcoming holiday season! Students have brochures for insulated tumblers, Otis Spunkmeyer cookie dough and gourmet snacks and chocolates. All orders and payments are due on Thursday, October 30th. Delivery of items will be during the first week of December. Students who sell 7 items will attend a DJ Glow Party and students who sell 10 items will attend the Glow Party AND will attend a Gaming Truck event. Please help support our PTSA and the various student programs at HIS.

OUR OCTOBER FAMILY NIGHT OUT WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!! Thank you to all of the Heritage families and staff members who supported our school by dining out at CHIPOTLE on October 8th. Chipotle generously gave back 50% of all proceeds to HIS. As a result, Heritage raised $1,923.50! A special "thank you" to our Leadership students and advisors for organizing a great event!

THANK YOU to all of our Heritage students and parents who made a donation in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. Together we raised $458.97!! All monies will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Thank you for supporting our students and such an important cause!

Halloween Dance and Costume Guidelines

Heritage students will be allowed to wear costumes to school on Friday, October 31st, however dress code does apply. Leadership will be hosting a school-wide Halloween Dance on October 31st from 2:30-3:30pm. All permission slips and $3 dance payments are due to the office by Wednesday, October 29th - no late exceptions will be made. Click the link for the dance permission slip and the appropriate form of dress for costumes.
 

Food Drive

The Chain Link Club is sponsoring a food drive this holiday
season. The food donated will be organized into gift baskets and
donated to families in our area who are in need of compassion
and support this holiday season.
 

2014 PTSA REFLECTIONS PROGRAM

National PTA's Reflections Program encourages students in pre-K through grade 12 to explore and be involved in the arts. The theme for the 2014-2015 school year is "The world would be a better place if...". Heritage students are encouraged to participate by reflecting on the theme and creating an original work of art in one of the following categories: dance choreography, film production, music composition, literature, photography or visual arts. Students interested in participating at HIS must return their interest form to the Student Window by September 16th. All final Reflections entries are due October 20th.
 

HERITAGE PE TEACHERS TAKE THE ALS ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE!!

On Thursday, August 28, 2014, our amazing HIS PE teachers showed their support towards a great cause. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's Disease," is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Who will take the next challenge?
 

ESPRI - Parent & Student Access to Grades

User names and passwords are issued to every parent and student starting in sixth grade or at registration for other grade levels. Returning students and parents use the same user names and passwords to access ESPRI all three years at Heritage Intermediate. Please contact the school office if you need assistance connecting to ESPRI, our 24/7 access to student assignments and current grades.

Does Your Child Have Health Insurance?

Statistics show that healthy children attend school on a more consistent basis. Heritage Intermediate is participating in a Medi-Cal program that links students and families with health care options. If you are in need of health insurance for your child/ren, please contact our school Health Office at 909-357-1345. Your child may be eligible for FREE or LOW COST health care which includes medical, dental, and vision coverage.
