Hello Heritage Families!

As the end of our school year is quickly approaching, I would like to remind you of a couple important events.

First of all, I would like to invite you to attend our LCAP Community Forum on Wednesday, April 12th from 6:30-7:30pm in our MPR. We will be discussing the district's Local Control Accountability Plan goals and actions for student achievement. As Heritage Intermediate parents, your voice counts! So, please come out and join us for this important event.

On Wednesday, April 19th, we will be hosting our annual OPEN HOUSE. I invite you to tour your child's classrooms from 6:00-7:00pm to see all of the learning that has transpired this school year. We will also have our PTSA sponsored Book Fair open on the MPR stage from 5:00-7:00pm. This is a fantastic opportunity to purchase summer reading materials as it is Buy One Get One Book Free!

Finally, we have State Testing for all of our students from April 24th thru May 5th. All of our students will be taking the Smarter Balanced (SBAC) computer-based tests in language arts and mathematics. Additionally, all 8th graders will take part in the pilot of the new California Science Test (CAST) on Tuesday, May 9th. This is a pilot test that will not generate data this year, however our students' participation is important. Please click on the link below to access our SBAC TESTING SCHEDULE. It is important that all students arrive to school on time and prepared on designated testing days. Also, please note that we will not interrupt classes under any circumstances during the noted testing time windows. I am confident that all of our HIS Hawks are prepared to do well on the SBAC!
