The Heritage Intermediate Staff will collaborate to ensure that all students learn at high levels and are prepared for success in the real world!

Heritage Intermediate is proud to partner with MIDDLE SCHOOL MATTERS for the 2015-16 school year. Our entire staff recently received professional development on research-based instructional strategies that are being implemented in all of our classrooms. Students are learning how to generate leveled questions to increase their reading comprehension. Students are also learning to use math manipulatives to increase their conceptual understanding of mathematical concepts.

THANK YOU HERITAGE FAMILIES for supporting our Student Leadership - Our Family Night Out at CHIPOTLE was a HUGE success!! You helped us raise over $1,500!! Thank you to Chipotle for giving 50% of proceeds from the evening.

Hello Heritage Parents and Guardians,

The new school year has definitely started on a high note and what an amazing group of students we have at HIS! It is pure joy to stand at the front gate every morning greeting students. Every child has a smile on their face and displays a positive attitude showing that they are ready to learn!

Parent Conference Week is quickly approaching! Conferences will be held during the week of November 2nd-6th. We will continue to hold late afternoon and evening conferences from 2pm-7pm on November 4th and 5th to accommodate parent work schedules. Please be sure that you sign up for a conference to come in and meet with your child's teachers. Home-School communication is essential for student success.

One of the biggest changes at HIS this school year is our new schedule. We have transitioned to a seven period day. During our instructional day, we now have a school-wide common period called "Universal Access". During Universal Access time students will receive two days of instruction in the area of Language Arts/Reading and two days of instruction in the area of Math. This instruction is in addition to what students are receiving during their core content classes. HIS teachers will use new diagnostic assessment results to identify specific skills that each student needs to improve upon and place students in classes accordingly. Universal Access will also provide our high achieving students with great opportunities for academic enrichment.

Please remember to check your child's ESPRI account on a weekly basis. It is important that we all work together to hold our students accountable for homework completion and successful academic performance. I also encourage you to maintain regular communication with your child's teachers - the HIS staff takes great pride in working hand in hand with parents to ensure student success!
