Hello Heritage Parents and Guardians,

Thank you to all of our parents who attended their child's Parent/Teacher Conference. Effective teaching, student motivation and engagement are key components to academic success. However, one additional component is necessary for students to achieve academic success - YOU! If questions arise regarding your child's grades and academic performance, please do not hesitate to email or call the teachers. The entire staff at HIS takes great pride at ensuring on-going parent communication. Second trimester progress reports will be sent home with all students on Friday, December 17th.

Our 3rd period Universal Access class is proving to be a real success this year! Students just completed their second iReady diagnostic assessment. The iReady data has shown an increase in each grade level of students moving from below grade level to on/above level. We often hear students saying, "I like my UA class. The skills I am learning are helping me in my core classes." Teachers have also reported that students are showing high levels of success in UA that is transferring to core math and ELA classes. New UA classes will start on January 5th when we return from Winter Break. Once change that students will experience is that they will attend their Math and ELA Universal Access classes for 4 consecutive days (Tuesday thru Friday).

Please continue to check your child's ESPRI account on a weekly basis. It is important that we all work together to hold our students accountable for homework completion and successful academic performance!
