History has always been my passion. I went to school at Cal State Northridge
and majored in History. During my Junior year at CSUN I began to travel
around the world. I did a study aborad program in Spain. There I studied
Spanish and the Spanish culture. From Spain I went on to travel to France and
London. My life goal is to visit as many countires and share my experiences
with my students.
My other great passion in my life is dancing. I have been dancing and
competing for ten years. When I was in 11th grade I did a research paper on
the Swing era. That research paper began my interest in swing dancing. I
later took lessons at Arthur Murray dance studio and learned all the partner
dances: latin, ballroom, and swing. I went on to dance professionally and
compete. In 2001 I won the Jitterbug Championships, 2002 and 2003 CA Balboa
Chamipionships, and 2004 I was nominated for the Swing Hall of Fame.
In Social Studies, we develop a deeper awareness and appreciation of world
history and cultures by studying, archaeology, medieval societies and the
social, cultural and technological changes that occurred in Europe, Africa
and Asia in the years A.D 500 -1789. Students will examine the growing
economic interaction among civilizations that were developing concurrently
throughout the world during medieval and early mordern times. They will also
examine the of ideas, beliefs, technologies, and commodities in these
medieval societies.
