Message from the Principal
Welcome to Harbour View School! My name is Cindy Osterhout, and I am so proud to be your new principal.
I am looking forward to a wonderful school year, with the most incredible staff, supportive parents, and amazing students! I have had the priviledge of being a teacher at Harbour View for the past 25 years, and I know there is no better place for children than this. As the principal, I am anxious to get to know all of the families
in the community so please stop by the office to say "Hi" when you are on
the school campus.

Whoooo's Here? We're Here!
At Harbour View we value the efforts of parents and students when it comes to attendance. In fact, we honor the classes at each grade level with the highest attendance percentage by recognizing them at our monthly Pelican Pride Assemblies. In addition, all students with perfect attendance each month (and no tardies!)receive a special pencil for their efforts. Please make every effort to help your child come to school on time every day!

PTA President's Message
Thank you for joining Harbour View PTA This Year
Becoming a member of Harbour View’s PTA each year enables parents to take an active role in promoting a wonderful partnership between parents and teachers in a common goal – To provide the best school environment possible for our children.
The cost of a year-long PTA membership is just $7 per family, of which half remains at our school. Any donation above that amount stays at Harbour View School and is donated by the PTA to the child’s grade level teachers. The teachers then use that donation to fund grade specific needs for the remainder of the school year.
This year, our PTA is thrilled to report that just over $11,000 will be donated to Harbour View School to be shared by each grade level, as a result of donations that came from parents like you during the membership drive!
As a PTA member, you are encouraged to take advantage of the educational opportunities that abound both at the state and national PTA levels. PTA websites offer a wealth of information to parents on topics that pertain to school aged children. PTA members are also offered discounts at various retailers, check the PTA website for a listing. National and State PTA lobby hard to advocate for children and teachers; two benefits recently seen are the reinstatement of education in the Arts and reintroduction of P.E. in schools.
On a more direct note, Harbour View PTA works very hard every school year to support programs, materials, and equipment that directly benefit every child attending Harbour View. This year, the PTA is providing full funding of all classroom field trips, all school assemblies and workshops, technology enhancements to all grade levels (including computer technology), start up teacher supplies for use with the children, extended library staff hours in the morning, renovations and improvements to the Pelican Hall stage, after school academic workshops support, and so much more!
With active members, our PTA has the opportunity to continue to provide these valuable enhancements to the educational environment that we have come to enjoy at Harbour View School. Thank you for joining PTA this school year and thank you for your volunteer efforts on behalf of Harbour View students.
Debi Windle, PTA President
