What is your homework policy?

Students will receive approximately 50 minutes of homework Monday through Thursday nights.
A typical night of homework will include an assignment in Language Arts and Math.
There may be times when reading assignments may extend beyond the minutes listed above.
Students will be required to read at least 30 minutes per night.
What they read is entirely up to them, as long as it is at their reading level.

Daily homework is due the day after it is assigned (unless
otherwise specified). Students absent due to illness, will not be
required to make up homework, but will need to make up tests.

Every Friday, I send home a "Weekly Report". Students behavior,
work habits, and homework completion will be listed on the form.
I ask that parents sign the cover form and return it to school on
Monday. It is my goal that this process will help keep parents
updated and build student responsibility at the same time.

My child has forgotten their homework! What do we do?

It's a good idea to check my website to see if you can complete it from
the information there. You can also check with a friend from class.

My child is having a birthday!! Should I send in treats?

School policy now states there are no treats allowed for birthdays due to food allergies and our efforts to model healthy eating.
I will give your child a birthday card and birthday bookmark, and if you child agrees,
the class will sing Happy Birthday to them. :)
