Announcements

May 20th-24th

This will be a short week, but it will be jammed-packed with activities. We’re heading into the home-stretch and the end of the year is just around the corner. So keep your eye on the ball and make every school day count!

REMINDERS: Monday we will have a special guest speaker from Boeing talk to the students about satellite technology. On Tuesday, there is a social studies test, Art Masters, and the Talent Show. The Art Fair will be in the hall on Thursday from 1:00-3:00; come on by to see all the wonderful masterpieces created by our HFCS students. Finally, there is no school on Friday due to the Memorial Day Weekend holiday.

HAVE A TERRIFIC WEEK!

THIS WEEK’S AGENDA

ENGLISH: Students will get started on their last formal essay of the year. It is an entertaining, narrative essay that allows them to flex their creative writing abilities. We will also continue working with pronouns in grammar.

LITERATURE: The due date for A.R. points is just a few weeks away. Many students still need to earn their 20 points, which is worth a test grade in literature. Please make sure students are reading independently 20 minutes a day so they can not only stay on top of their points, but also help their reading comprehension across the board.

MATH: Monday there will be a test on graphing and the coordinate plane. We will then move on to angles, lines, and geometric figures.

RELIGION: We completed Family Life last week and will now focus on the last two sacraments. Students will finish reading about the Sacrament of Matrimony this week, followed by a test next week.
