Ms. Stefanie Schaeffer
Howell Mountain Elementary
6/7/8 Grade Math, Science, Physical Education, and Drama
I have had a wide variety of teaching experience in my career: English-
immersion kindergarten in Mexico; fifth grade Spanish bilingual and fourth
grade Chinese bilingual in San Francisco; fourth grade, middle school
algebra, high school English language learners, and Spanish 1-4 in Cloverdale.
After my first experience teaching middle school pre-algebra and algebra over
ten years ago, I unexpectedly learned that middle school students are my
favorite age group with which to work! And, I now have enjoyed three years of
working with 6/7/8 here at HMES!
I am again excited this year to be focusing on math and science in my core
academic teaching, and rounding out my days with the fun I plan to have
in physical education and drama. This year's Drama class will be a
combination of Beginning Drama (for 6th graders and any new students to HMES)
and Advanced Drama for returning students.
I am very happy to be team teaching middle school again this year with Mr.
Forgie, and am looking forward to another excellent year!
I hold high expectations for my students - both academically and socially. I
strive to create a team atmosphere in the classroom where each student is
valued for his or her strengths and supported in tackling his or her
challenges. My goal is that each student recognizes and achieves his or her
highest potential, leaving my class at year-end not only as better students,
but also as better citizens.
