AP Biology is an accelerated college level class designed to prepare students
for the AP Biology exam in May. This is a rigorous course requiring many hours
of study, hard work, and dedication. Exams are frequent and students must be
self motivated to meet the course's demands. Students passing the AP exam will
receive college credit. The class will also enhance your study skills for
success in college and future AP classes taken at Irvington High School.
Biology and SHAPE Biology are college prep courses primarily taken during the
sophomore year. Both courses follow the California Academic Content Standards
for Biology and are counted as a lab science. Students are introduced to the
topics of Biochemistry, Cell Processes, Genetics, Evolution, Physiology and
the the Scientific Process.
