About The Teacher
This is my 32nd year of teaching and every year it is new and exciting. I have taught at elementary and middle schools in Morgan Hill, Sunnyvale, Cambrian, and Los Gatos, and in many different summer science programs. I really love teaching science and hope I can communicate my fascination about the natural world to my students. I have been married for 31 years and have two sons - both who had the "wonderful" experience of attending John Muir while I was teaching here. They survived, and the oldest is now a 1st lieutenant in the US Army, serving in Iraq and the youngest is a film student at DeAnza College. I became a mother-in-law in August when our oldest son married his sweetheart in a castle in Germany. . Our four cats, Arthur, Guinevere, Morgan Le Fey and Lancelot keep us entertained at home. We have all been involved in Scouting for years, so camping is a way we all like to relax. I even drag them all on nature hikes!

Mission
Life Science (7th grade) The main theme of this class is the form and structure of life on earth. We begin the year with a study of lab safety and scientific measurement and methods. The wonderful variety of ‘the parade of life’ will fill the rest of the year. Through the science fair project, all students will conduct their own scientific investigations, supported by a summary of relevant research. Earth Science (6th grade) Sixth Grade science is all about the form and structure of the earth. We begin the year with a study of lab safety and scientific measurement and methods. The dynamic Earth and all of its geological systems will fill the rest of the year. Through the science fair project, all students will conduct their own scientific investigations, supported by a summary of relevant research.
