AVID and Grades 7-8

AVID will meet in the library on Fridays Periods 0, 5, and 6.  We will be applying technology to AVID projects.  We have two major goals for the first quarter.  The first is to improve keyboarding speed so that assignments may be completed quickly.  The second is to complete computer literacy requirements.

Seventh Grade Goal:  Students are able to word process, typing at an accuracy rate of 25 GWAM, with proper technique.

Eighth Grade Goal:  Students will continue to use proper technique and procedures to create communication office documents.

Also--Contest for 3-12--  Write a poem in haiku format.  Haikus are short poems about things that make people feel a connection to nature .The topic will be nutrition. The haiku will be a poem of three lines, with a longer middle line. The entire poem should be not more than 17 syllables

                       Why did you chose the book? Who was the person and why is he significant?

            Reveal something that would make others want to read the biography you selected.

                                                 How do successful people deal with internal and external conflicts?

                                                 Define leadership. Was (x) a leader? Why?

                                                  Does (x) belong on the AVID Wall of Fame?

                   3. Begin Typing Instructor Deluxe!!!   We have 20 copies for use at all times!!!
