Announcements

Dear Parents,
The students did a wonderful job performing our Bugz musical last night. I was so proud of them! They were terrific! Thank you to Mrs. Scott for organizing our cast picnic party after the performance and for the delicious parent donations. Mrs. Shipley and Mrs. Rivera helped make the wonderful costumes, so adorable - thank you! I felt the students had a great experience in this process and I was glad to see their confidence build during practice and perform so well!    We will performing a Bugz encore performance for the school on May 16th at 8:35AM.

Please have your child wear their Bugz performance attire (black bottoms/shirts, with the exception of the army ants that also wear camouflage) to school on Wednesday morning,    so that they are ready to perform that morning. Mrs. Shipley and Mrs. Rivera offered to help pin costumes on that morning, which will be a great help to me, thank you! After the play, we will enjoy some goodies at morning recess.
You may purchase a DVD of the play for $10.00. I will sending home an order form next week.
There is no more homework packets going home for the remainder of the year.  I will put together a practice packet that can be completed during off track. The packet will be a review of foundation first grade skills.
Please continue to read the anthology stories. We are working on - Open Court Homes unit.  In math, we will be continuing with adding 2 digit numbers with regrouping, as well as completing some fun activities with measurement with our buddy class.  In second grade, timed math tests are continued. If your child has not yet mastered basic facts, sums under 20, it will be important to practice over break.
If you'd like to meet for a conference, please email me. I can set time aside to meet later this week or on Monday or Tuesday.
Our last day of school is May 23rd - minimum day! Thank you for all your support this year.  Mrs. Hill

((Two serving trays were left at our class cast party - please let me know if they are yours)).

Thank you, Mrs. Hill

Please email Mrs. Scott if you can donate money towards a class photo book! $5.00 would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you to parents who've donated money for photograph book.  Please consider donating to our Class Basket for the Ice Cream Social. This year we purchased a piggy bank to fill with money.  I would appreciate at least $5.00 from every student, which would make $50.00 in our class piggy bank.  Thank you!
