Alligator Writing

This is the second animal writing piece we did this year.  Students picked out important information from text read aloud to them and helped to create a graphic organizer.  Students practiced using selected pieces of information to say sentences aloud.  Oral rehearsal of sentences helps to insure complete and interesting sentences.   In this way, students who are “good speakers” learn that they are also “good writers”.   We are very proud of all that we learned and wrote about these incredible and fierce animals.
