Reading:
We're currently on Unit Two, Ancient Civilizations. In this Unit,
students will become acquainted with ancient civilizations, archaeologists,
and anthropologists. We read "His Majesty, Queen Hatshepsut" this week.

Math:
The test for Chapter Six is in your child's Friday Folder. Please be sure to
check out how your child did. Remember, they are able to re-take the test if
they scored a sixty nine percent or lower. We're currently on Chapter Seven,
Measurement and Geometry.

Spelling/Writing:
We take a spelling pretest every Monday. Students learn and take notes on
the spelling pattern and are given worksheets to increase their
understanding of it. Please check your child's Friday Folder to see
how they did on their Spelling test.

We're currently working on a compare and contrast paper. The class selected
two topics and we listed the similarities and differences of each. Final
copies are due on Tuesday, November 24.

Student goals were written down this week. Please be sure to review your
child's goals with them and find out what you can do to help them reach their
goals.

Social Studies/Science:
We've been preparing for our Chapter Three test in Social Studies. We will
take the test on Tuesday, November 24.

Notes from Mr. Wandell:
We have a short week next week due to our Thanksgiving Break. I have a lot
to be thankful for - one of which is this class! I hope you enjoy the time
with your child over the break - it's hard to believe we are already into our
second trimester.

We had a fun buddy activity this week. Our class helped our kindergarten
buddies make Thanksgiving placemats. It was fun watching the interactions
between the two classes!
