Grades have been uploaded to the website.  There aren't too many grades for the last 2 1/2 weeks.  I will have Mrs. Phillips' grades by the weekend. So, please check again on Monday.

We have a potluck planned for Wednesday.  We are asking both the 5th and 6th grade classes to bring in items for sandwiches, salads, and dessert.  We've started a list in class.  Please ask your child what they volunteered to bring.  We are also having the great 46 take-away-gift game.  It's not 52 because a total of 6 students from both classes will be absent.   The only parameters we set for the gift exchange was that the item needed to be between $5 - $10.

I hope everyone has a restful winter break and a Happy New Year!  We start back on January 4th.  2010 already... I can't believe it.

I am ready to come back.  I hope your kids are as well.  I wanted to thank all of the parents who came to chaperone our trip to Mission Springs.  We couldn’t have done it without you!!  Thank you to: Ms. Carrasco, Mr. Macneill, Mr. Nguyen, Mrs. O’Connor, Mrs. Pierce, Mr. & Mrs. Robles, Mr. Rodgerson, Mr. Rosenstein, Mr. Stralen, Mr. Tham, Ms. Ouchida, and Mrs. Brashier!!

I am sure a lot of you have already heard.  When the kids come back, we will be departmentalizing with Mrs. Phillips again.  Mrs. Phillips and I analyzed all of our testing data from last school year and realized that the kids did a LOT better than the past Accelerated classes when we departmentalized.  It also helps to get our kids ready for middle school when they have to switch classes.  The only difference this year will be the switching times.  We will switch after WIN time (11:20) and continue until 2:10.  This will give the kids a chance to drop off books and pack the ones that they will need.

The district has also sent out a flyer for parents to view the “Family Life” curriculum.  I’ve put the flyer on my “Classroom Docs” page.  The link is to the left.

On a sad & happy note, Wayne has moved to Mr. Ogden’s class.  I am happy that he gets to stay on our campus, but sad to see him leave our class.  At least the kids will get to see him at recess and lunch.

I look forward to seeing all the kids on November 30th!  I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!!
