Do you assign homework every night?

Generally speaking, I do not assign homework. We work on
assignments in class so that I can help those students having
difficulty with the concepts and applications. If students do not
complete class assignments, they are to take all unfinished work
and complete it at home. Classroom work is posted on the
classroom calendar and students are required to
copy the assignments in to their personal agenda. In addition,
students are required to read and participate in a physical
activity each evening.

Do you accept late work?

District policy states that a teacher is not required to accept
late work except in a situation where a student has been on an
excused absence. In this case, a student is allowed as many days
to make up the missing work as s/he was absent.

May I visit your classroom to observe?

Please do. Parents/guardians are always welcome in our
classroom. Simply drop by the office, sign-in, and come to room
G8. Please keep in mind that during instructional time, I might
not have an opportunity to conference with you or answer
questions you might have.

What is DOL?

DOL stands for Daily Oral Language. Each day students copy 2
sentences that are filled with grammar errors. Students are
challenged to edit these mistakes independently. As a whole
group, we identify these errors and students are asked to explain
the grammar rule that governs these corrections. It is suggested
that students study the DOL sentences each evening to prepare for
a DOL test that is given on Fridays.

What is GEO?

GEO stands for Geography. Each day students use resources to
