Per. 1 & 2 SS8 GATE HOMEWORK

HOMEWORK for U.S. History GATE (Periods 1 & 2)-- students should expect approximately 20-30 minutes of homework Mondays-Thursdays. This week's homework... MONDAY, DECEMBER 7th: Work on revising/editing your Americana Research Paper (the final draft is due on Thursday, Dec. 10th). You will need to turn in your Notes Packet, Outline, Thesis Statement, and Rough Draft of this day as well for credit. (The Research Paper will count for both an English and a History grade.) TUESDAY, DECEMBER 8th: Finish Ch. 8.3 Questions (Shays' Rebellion) (due Wed.) WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 9th: Finish Ethnographer Questions (due Thur.) THURSDAY, DECEMBER 10th: Write Constitutional Convention Journal Entry tonight (due Fri.) * The Ch. 8 Creating the Constitution (Constitutional History) Test will be on Thursday, December 17th. The Ch. 8 packet of work will also be due on Thur. 12/17/09. * If you've been absent, be sure you are reading chapter 8 ("Creating the Constitution") from History Alive to get more info. (since you've missed class discussions). * The Final Draft of the Americana Research Paper is due Thur. 12/10/09. You will need to turn in your Notes Packet, Outline, Thesis Statement, and Rough Draft of this day as well for credit. (The Research Paper will count for both an English and a History grade.) * Auditions for Americana speeches will be on Thur. 12/10 and Fri. 12/11 at lunch. The Americana Performances will be Thur. Feb. 4th and Fri. Feb. 5th. (There is a mandatory rehearsal Sat. 1/30 all day.) With Americana, it is important to get involved, to challenge yourself, and to have fun while learning! * Americana Monologues will be presented on Wed. 12/16 and Thur. 12/17 in Eng.8G classes. * Check your grades-- click on "GRADES", type in your last name and under "Password" type in your Student ID# ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Next week's homework... MONDAY, DECEMBER 14th: Read & mark "State Constitutions" article and answer the questions tonight (due Tue.); review your Study Guide and ch. 8 vocabulary ("Language of the Discipline") tonight TUESDAY, DECEMBER 15th: Complete "Compromises of the Constitutional Convention" worksheet tonight (due Wed. 12/16) WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 16th: Study for the Ch. 8 (Constitutional History) Test which will be on Dec. 17th; make sure your Ch. 8 packet of work is complete (it is due Thur. 12/17/09) THURSDAY, DECEMBER 17th: Read your independent reading book (and record in your English reading log) * The Ch. 8 Creating the Constitution (Constitutional History) Test will be on Thursday, December 17th. The Ch. 8 packet of work will also be due on Thur. 12/17/09. * If you've been absent this week, be sure you are reading chapter 8 ("Creating the Constitution") from History Alive to get more info.
