Welcome to the 2008/2009 school year!


* ATTENTION PARENTS AND GUARDIANS: If you have any questions regarding my

  me at school (562)266-5252. My office hour is from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.


* GERMAN CLUB NEWS: All interested students are invited to our first
  meeting which will take place on Wednesday, October 8 during lunch.
  Anybody with an interest in the German language and culture is invited to
  come to our meetings even if they are not enrolled in a German class.

  Remember: If you are enrolled in a German class, you will earn extra 
  credit points by joining German club and by being and active member!

  5) German Honor Society Induction Ceremony (TBD)

  6) Transatlantic Soccer Bridge Tournament at Esperanza HS (4/25/09)


* GERMAN NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY STUDENTS: Congratulations to the following
  students for receiving high scores on the German National Exam:

  Level 2: Lorelei Monterroso, Jared Nanoff, Heather Gomes, Rachel Paek,
           Tara Walcker, Ashley Leonard

  Level 3: Kevin Thompson, Grant Walker, Lindsey Bedwell, Gesarel Abarca,
           Cole Fagan, Max Curd

  Level 4: Paul Riggins (score of 95 out of 100, ranked 9th out of 164)

  All these students were honored at an awards ceremony on May 16.


* GERMAN NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY: Congratulations to the following students
  for meeting the requirements of the German National Honor Society:

  Tim Calas, Max Curd, Ashley Leonard, Lorelei Monterroso, Rachel Paek, 
  Katherine Snyder

  The induction ceremony took place on Friday, May 16.

   
* STUDENTS: Don't forget to check this page every Monday for the Question Of
  The Week.  You can earn 3 extra credit points for every correct answer or a
  free homework pass each time you answer three questions correctly.  Answers
  are due by Thursday before 3:00 p.m. each week and will not be accepted 
  late.  Students are responsible for keeping a log of their points/rewards.
