Welcome to the Sam H. Lawson Middle School After School Sports Program. We
offer ten sports throughout the school year. The sports are broken up into
seasons. There are five total seasons in which your child can participate.
Tryouts will take place at the school, the location is dependent upon sport
and availability of facilities. Please look at the individual schedule links
for correct dates and times. The length of a typical tryout session will be
from 3:00 to 5 p.m. Athletes trying out for sports are reminded to take
all their belongings with them to the tryout. Locker room/ changing
facilities are available directly after school, but are locked at 3
p.m. NO STUDENTS WILL BE ALLOWED TO RE-ENTER THE LOCKER ROOMS AFTER 3 p.m.
We have coaches that are not staff members and do not have access to these
facilities. Thanks for your cooperation in this matter.
There will be tryouts held for each season on the aforementioned dates after
school from 3 - 4:30p.m. starting in the Lawson Event Center, please be prompt
in picking up your child. Do understand that every effort is made to get the
athlete out on time. If your athlete needs to leave early you need to let the
athlete know to alert the coach/athletic director.
It becomes inherently difficult to view an athlete when the coach fully
expects the athlete to be at the full tryout. Thanks for your consideration
