Booster Meeting
January 14, 2009
Booster meeting called to order at 6:05 pm by Julie Berlin. Minutes from
October 14, 2008 meeting were reviewed by all attending. . No corrections
noted. A motion was made to approve the minutes. A vote approved the
minutes.
-Financial Report:
Julie Berlin reported for Tawny a balance of $20,025.98.
-Principal’s Report:
Mr. Lewis reported attendance at 96.0% as of January 5, 2009. Mr. Lewis
thanked Boosters for the teacher luncheon and for the financial support for
the new teachers.
Student Recognition Program--Pep Rally celebrating student academic
achievement was a success. Budget proposal handed out with breakdown of
where monies will go.
Mr. Lewis announced the 8th graders went to Woodland High School to tour
their elective program. Registration will begin on February 2nd.
Retention decisions are being made for those students who currently have two
or more F’s.
Reading Campaign--The reading program as of December 18th:
74 students have read 500,000 words
9 students have read 1,000,000 words
4 students have read 2,000,000 words
-Athletic Report:
Diane Frank informed us that 7th grade boys basketball record was 9-1, 8th
grade record is 2-1. Mr Lewis reported that the Wrestling team is currently
undefeated for the second year in a row.

-Donation Requests:
Mr. Gangitano has requested $600 for Career Day. This includes an extra $150
so that tshirts can be provided to faculty and staff. A motion was made to
approve the $600 request, second made, a vote approved the donation.
