Announcements

Sometime soon, Lee will be changing its school web page provider to a company called School Loop. My web page, and a few others (Mounce, Guthrie, etc.) is provided by TeacherWeb. Most of us with extensive web pages on TeacherWeb plan to stay with them for at least this year. However, competition among these companies being what it is, School Loop will not provide automatic access to Teacher Web. So, I will be setting up a minimal School Loop web page on the new Lee website where I will insert a link for you to continue to get to my web page on TeacherWeb. I hope that makes sense. Frankly, neither one of the companies is all that great -- I just have a lot of time invested in TeacherWeb.

HERE IS THE IMPORTANT PART: There are some technical difficulties that could prevent me from setting up this transition on my webpage before they "throw the switch" on the Lee web site. The district tech people may be able to help me in time, or not. So, in case things go badly, here is the address by which you can always go directly to my TeacherWeb page, bypassing the Lee website (you might want to write it down or put it in your "favorites" or "bookmarks" or whatever your browser calls them):

It is possible for you to view your (or your child's) entire grade report, showing each assignment and the score received, as well as any missing assignments, and the current percentage and letter grade. Click on the Grades icon on my home page. You will see a display with a shaded box for each period. Enter your (your child's) permanent ID number, click "GO" and there it is! (If you do not see a box for entering an ID number on the grade page, go to www.java.com for a free software download. That should take care of the problem) Note the date in the upper right corner of the report. That will tell you when I last updated the information. Blank spaces in the "YOUR SCORES" column indicate assignments that were not turned in as of the date indicated. If you (your child) believes the assignment was turned in, they can prove that by showing me the graded assignment in their gray work folder in the classroom.

  • Be sure that you are checking your Lee Planner and your Goals and Activities sheet every night to see if there is homework that you have forgotten about. Make sure that you are keeping your Assignment Record Sheet up-to-date so that you know if you have failed to complete or turn in assignments.
  • I do daily updates of homework on my web page. Click on the homework icon on my home page.
  • Is your binder a mess? Are you stuffing important assignments into your backpack instead of putting them in the rings of your binder? Lack of organization is one of the most commom reasons for failure in school. Spend some time next weekend getting that mess under control . . . and then devote some serious time to keeping it that way. It will pay off with better grades! And, being organized is really a lot less work than being disorganized!
