Summary of comments:

I’m always impressed with the amount of work that went into making this a
highly successful event. Highest commendations to the Lee Middle School staff
and students! Career Day was excellent. I enjoyed the continental breakfast.
When we gave the presentations, the students seemed interested and paid
attention. Next time parents should be invited to watch the kids. I always
get back what I put in. Very fun. The students were attentive, courteous and
engaged. The event was well organized in every area. Thank you! My first time
here as a presenter and I was very impressed by the students-especially just
before spring break! Very well organized; the students were very polite and
well behaved. Great job!

Let the kids pick who they want to see. Stop with the day-to-day e-mails. I
wasn’t sure how many handouts to bring. Can we not use quite so much paper;
two sided copies-smaller font, etc. Maybe consider a more “sustainable
event.” I think holding Career day just before spring break is tough on the
kids. There were a lot of interested students in what we had to say. Then
there were some who just goofed off. Parents should be invited to sit in. Can
I do the college prep classes? They are more inclined to be interested in
college and law school. I wish the students could choose the field they are
interested in instead of random assignment. I liked your e-mail reminders,
but the attached files were too big and bogged down my e-mail box. Need more
time for speaker. Try to have future Career Days be so the students choose
who they see for at least one speaker so they can determine if their career
choice is still what they want.

Very well organized. Student helpers were well trained. The students were
great and they took a lot of notes. Teacher was good at making sure the
students did not talk during our talk. Call me again next year. I am happy to
return with more info and handouts. I certainly would like to be a presenter
next year. Students were very well prepared and respectful. I loved the
greeters and escorts. Very well organized! Kudos!! Great experience for kids
and presenters. It was great as normal. Wonderfully organized! I was honored
to finally do this Career Day. I loved being back. (at Lee) The kids were
great!!

Additional Comments:

This was the first time and I was impressed with everything! From the moment
I arrived, I was met by Jacob, a very enthusiastic 7th grader with an
interest in food sales/grocery business... Richard, Hume and Sammie then
helped me with registration. All very personable young men and women! I was
then introduced to Michael Gangitano, a very helpful counselor whose info
leading to today was awesome! He had a wonderful young lady by the name of
Gabby lead me to my class. Thanks to all!

Dan Swatek; Brooks Painting

Michael, I want to take the time to recognize your efforts in planning and
executing the Career Day for Lee Middle School last Friday. You did a
fantastic job and all your planning paid off immeasurably. All the students
that worked the event were so enthusiastic and polite. And, they exhibited a
degree of self-confidence that quite surprised me. You should be proud. The
students in the classroom were also impressive. They had lots of questions
and seemed to enjoy the topics. Their interaction was the key to our success
as speakers (me and Adrian DeMar, pilot for FedEx). They came up with some
good questions and offered some "what ifs" that were very pertinent. Keep me
on your speaker list for next year!

Marlene Myers; Travis Credit Union

Hi Michael,
I had to leave early, but I wanted to let you know that I appreciate the
effort that was spent in making it so well organized. Thank you for giving
Caltrans the opportunity to be a part of your Career day. It was a nice event
and the students were very helpful and respectful. Please include us for next
year’s event.

Marleece Peart; Caltrans

Hi Michael,
Great job. Great comments! And, I’d like to add mine. After doing all middle
schools in Davis and Woodland, I found the Lee student helpers to be the most
helpful, cordial and professional of all.

Pam Duey; Woodland Veterinary Hospital

Michael,
Thank you for the amazing amount of work you put into Career Day. It was an
outstanding event.
