What are the classroom rules?
Treat equipment and others with respect. Clean-up after yourself.
No food or gum. You will have clean-up duty or other consequences if asked
to throw away gum. No eating or drinking in PC Lab. (Exception: If you
want a drink of water, one person may get up at a time to go to the drinking
fountain or step near the sink to drink from your water bottle.)
Come in walking and speaking in a low voice. You may be asked to leave if
you do otherwise. Be in your seat before the bell rings. You should log-in
and begin warm-up immediately. Anyone still out of their seat when the bell
rings, may be on my list to leave last from class.
If you come in tardy, you will be marked late. Mr. Gangitano will provide
lunch detention for tardy students.
No calling out in class. I will respond to quiet hands.
Be an attentive listener. It does take work to listen well.
Do your best to complete all assignments and turn them in when due.
Do not disturb others learning and/or interrupt your teacher, especially
during direction instruction to class. Specific consequences will apply
immediately.
Work the entire class, do not log off early and just sit there.
Do not type anything other than your name and password on the log-in Novell
window.
Be respectful and responsible, following the Wildcat Way.
(Violation of the next five rules will result in losing your computer
privileges in every class.)
No e-mail, instant messaging, or chat rooms
Stay away from inappropriate websites
Use only your account
Do not vandalize the computer equipment, headphone, mouse pads, or
your classroom in any way
Follow the Network Access Contract rules and requirements
What is PAT time and when is it?
PAT time is Preferred Activity Time. This is every Friday for students who
have had good participation with no behavior issues and completed all
activities/assignments for the week.
Will there be an open lab during lunch-time and how can I use it?
Open lab is once a week during lunch-time for students to
work on computer class assignments, other class assignments (pre-arranged),
and/or who earn extra PAT time from Typing Time and other participation
activities.
How does a student make-up an assignment or project in Computer Class?
If Internet/computer is available at home, student may take work home to do
as homework. If there is not computer access available at home or other
location, student may make arrangements with me to catch-up at lunch or after
school.
