and the link below.  Read and complete steps 1-5 in book. In step 
5, instead of completing on "piece of paper" type the

#6 - Many of you watched a video in BrainPop about copyright.  
Now go to online dictionary www.merriam-webster.com and type in 
copyright in the search box.  Next, type the definition of 
copyright in your Learning Log. (Do not copy & paste, but list 
your source.)

#7 - 10/1/09:  Click on the link below and click the subject area 
that interests you the most.  On the next page that appears, pick 
a question from the list.  Read and explore the answer to your 
mystery question, then TYPE in your LEARNING LOG in your own 
words (3 sentences) what you learned (the answer to your

#9 - 10/13/09:  After viewing and taking notes on Mrs. Guthrie's 
PowerPoint on Design Tips, answer in your learning log the 
following:
1)  List the PowerPoint design tips from side show.
2)  Why are these design tips important when creating your show?
STOP HERE - Discuss with your row members what you wrote in your 
Learning Log.  We will use our "selector" to have a few students 
share a design tip.  Then after reviewing design tips with rest 
of class, answer the final question
3)  Go to your PowerPoint practice and change one or more of your 
slides using these design tips to make your show even better.

THIRD MARKING PERIOD
#13 - 11/3/09:  We have not used our Goals & Progress document in 
a long time.  So for this Learning Log, we'll write about our 
third marking period goals.  Here are your questions:
1)  What do you want to accomplish this last marking period of 
the semester? Be specific, like I want to complete all my 
homework and assignments and turn them in on time.
2)  Now that you have been at LMS for 12 weeks, what is your 
favorite learning experience so far?  Be specific, like in 
Science we learned...
3)  In Computer Class, what are you looking forward to learning 
these last six weeks?  And how will you commit to succeeding?  Be 
specific, like I will keyboard correctly for 10 minutes a day.

save images from the Internet.  Some of the things we are talking 
about are "pixels" and "resolution."  For this learning log, you

1)  What is a "pixel" and what makes up this word? (hint: pg 55)
2)  What does resolution mean and should you look for high or low 
resolution when you want to make sure you have a clear picture?

#16 - 12/1/09:  December is here and we only have three weeks 
left in this semester.  For this Learning Log Entry I thought 
we'd review some study skills and time management because this 
will be a great method to meet some of your school goals.  Go to 
the link below and read the 8 study tips, then answer the 
following questions:
1)  What study tips do you currently use?
2)  What 2 new study tips do you think will help you the most?
3)  How can you start to use these study tips in your own life?
4)  Now review the goals that you set for yourself in #13 and 
write down ways to study that will help you accomplish these.
