How much help is too much help for my child with his first grade homework?

The only way you can help TOO MUCH with homework is to actually tell your
child the answers or fill out the homework for him or her. That being said,
please know that our homework packets are designed to be done WITH the
parent, so your involvement is very important. Some of the pages can't be
done without input from the parent, especially the Character Education
homework. Please find time to go over your child's work, making sure he or
she is doing what has been asked, doing it correctly, and doing ALL of what
was asked. If your child seems frustrated or overwhelmed, allow a short
break and snack. Then, let him or her return to work. If you see your
child has made a mistake, point to the wrong answer and ask him/her to look
at the question again and see if there's a different answer. Make sure your
child always shows all his or her work and can explain or defend the
answers and thought processes, when called for. If you have any questions
about the homework, don't hesitate to email or call me.
