Homework

Typically, homework will be the same each week. However, I do change
homework on occasion and I will put other announcements and reminders on the
homework sheet. Ask your child to show you each completed homework
assignment.

Homework will be given daily. It is expected to be returned completed and
neat (in pencil) the following morning. Homework is to be kept in the
homework folder. This will help to keep it neat, clean, and safe. If
homework is not completed, the child will pull a card and make it up at
recess. Homework is the child's responsibility. A homework sheet will be
provided weekly. Please read and sign the homework sheet daily. It is to
stay in the homework folder - in case changes are needed. Thank You!!

The reading homework should be read aloud to a parent. Your child should
answer the comprehension questions (or worksheet) in complete sentences and
by themselves. You can direct them to the page with the answer, if they
need some help. But please, DO NOT just tell them the answer. That does
not help your child. Have them re-read the page with the answer. Teaching
them the skill of re-reading will help them in later experiences.

Typically this is what homework will be...
Monday- Write spelling words 3 times each, Math, and Reading
Tuesday- Spelling in ABC order, Math, and Reading
Wednesday-Math and Reading
Thursday- Take a practice spelling test with a parent and write the missed
words 3 times each, Math, and Reading
Friday- None, unless they did not finish work at school or have a lot of correcting to do, please ask
your child if they have any homework

You will find an example of the homework chart on the "Printable" page.
