Dolch Word Lists
Dolch words, or sight words, provide an excellent base for reading at an early age. They are often called sight words because some of them can't be sounded out, and need to be learned by sight. Your child should be able to read these words (plus pre-primer, primer, and 1st grade lists) without hesitation. They should be able to read them quickly and fluently. Go to this web site to see the complete list: http://www.mrsperkins.com/dolch-words-all-alpha.html You can make flash cards on index cards and go over them daily with your child until they recognize the words quickly and easily.
